AN unusual collection of portraits will go on show at Darlington Arts Centre next Saturday.
The 30 portraits are from Darlington Borough Council's collection and feature local people or are by local artists.
A famous portrait of the Queen Mother by local artist and former head of art at Darlington Grammar School, Lyndsey Bird, will be on display, as well as his picture of "Bug" Allen, head of science at the school.
The Myles Meehan gallery would like to hear from anyone visiting the exhibition who has information about the pieces on display.
There will also be a week of dance workshops for people aged from 12 to 24 with Tees Dance Initiative, culminating in a performance on July 27. For details contact Bonnie Davies on 01325 483271.
The exhibition of portraits will be on show throughout July, from 9am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday
