Rail chiefs got a shock today when a 'body' on the line woke up and walked away.
Train services between York and Harrogate were suspended after a man was spotted on the track at 7.30am.
But 20 minutes later, the National Rail website reported the apparent body had disappeared.
A police spokesman said: "When we got there, the body was not deceased - it was walking about."
He said the man, a psychiatric patient, fell asleep on the track near Harrogate Golf Club, but then woke up and walked off.
