TWO teenage boys have been arrested and questioned by police after a fire at a centre for adults with learning disabilities.
The Darlington boys, aged 15 and 16, are believed to have been released on police bail on Saturday night following the fire in the dining area of Beck House, on the town's Faverdale industrial estate. Firefighters were called to the building shortly before 8pm on Saturday and the youths were arrested shortly afterwards.
Colin Morris, director of social services at Darlington Borough Council, said the building was usable and alternative food arrangements were likely to be made until the dining area was repaired.
Cleaners were brought in yesterday, and Mr Morris said the majority of damage was from the water used by the fire brigade to extinguish the fire.
The youths are expected to answer their bail in August.
