Thousands of British holidaymakers remained stranded at airports today - despite Spanish coach drivers calling off their strike.
Tempers flared in UK airports because of the knock-on effects of the strike, which have meant some travellers waiting up to 50 hours for their flights.
One Airtours flight from Gatwick to Palma in Majorca, which was due to leave at 2210 on Saturday, is now scheduled to leave at 2330 today - a delay of more than 49 hours.
The 72-hour strike by coach drivers in the Balearic Islands caused chaos for thousands of holidaymakers travelling to and from Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza.
Coach services were gradually getting back to normal today, but airport staff warned it could take some time to clear the backlog of delayed flights.
Although the coach drivers' strike has been called off, hardline union leaders in Spain have warned that further industrial action is possible unless their pay dispute is resolved.
