ENTERPRISING gymnasts are reaching for the skies to raise funds for a trip to EuroDisney.
The Riverside Display Team, at South Bank, Middlesbrough, is hoping to raise the money for travel and accommodation for its 50 members.
While they have travelled abroad for displays in the past, a lack of finance has meant several having to stay at home. Now the group hopes to raise enough for a everyone to visit France, in August. It has already made progress by raising £800 from a show.
Michelle Hunter, whose daughter Samantha, nine, belongs to the group, said: "We had a display this month at Ormesby Sports Centre and we hoped to raise £300, but we actually raised £800.
"The members range from five to 22 and they look out for each other when they are abroad. It would be lovely if they could all go this time."
The group's invitation to perform at the theme park is the latest in a long line of venues in Gran Canaria, Greece and elsewhere. One of its greatest assets is having Royal Ballet School pupil Graham Elsey, of Hartlepool, as a leading man.
