YOUNG athletes from County Durham are under starters orders for the biggest primary school sports festival to be staged in the county.
Teams of 11-year-olds from 120 primary and special schools, totalling more than 3,500 competitors, will take part in the sixth Durham County Council Primary Schools Athletics Festival.
Chester-le-Street's Riverside track is the venue for Wednesday's event.
