FOUR of the best school cooks in County Durham will vie for culinary honours today.
The Chartwells School Cook of the Year competition is being held at the Hermitage Comprehensive School, in Chester-le-Street.
The winner of the heat will go forward to the North-East and Scotland regional final, and possibly the national final of the Local Authority Catering Association Competition.
The County Durham finalists are: Lynne Pearson from Wolsingham Primary School; Ann Clasper, from Lanchester RC School; Mark Kemp, from Belmont Comprehensive School, Durham City; and Angela Butler, of St Mary's RC School, Newton Aycliffe.
