THE surroundings of HMS Trincomalee will provide the setting for this year's Mayor's Sunday Service in Hartlepool.
The event takes place this Sunday at 11am, and the mayor, Councillor Doug Ferriday, has issued an invitation to people to attend.
A parade headed by the South Durham Pipes and Drum Band will proceed through the car park of the Hartlepool Historic Quay to HMS Trincomalee, the second oldest warship afloat in the world.
The service will be conducted by the mayor's chaplain, the Reverend Michael Gilbertson from Stranton All Saints Parish Church.
Afterwards, the parade will reassemble on the quayside before making its way to the car park opposite the Sir William Gray Suite, where the mayor will take the salute.
