POPULAR fiction writer Lesley Glaister is to give a read-in at Durham City Library this week.
Ms Glaister, whose first novel, Honour Thy Father, won the Somerset Maugham Award, will talk about her books and her life as an author, as well as read extracts.
A fellow of The Royal Society of Literature, she is making her debut at the library in South Street, tomorrow, as part of the Durham Literature Festival.
Lesley, who has three children, is a teacher at Sheffield Hallam University.
Library officials say her books, which include Sheer Blue Bliss, Trick or Treat and Easy Peasy, are always in demand there.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 2pm, are £3, £2 concessions, on 0191-386 4003.
