A DOG rescued from squalid conditions in a shed has made a full recovery with his new owners.
Shadow, a yellow Labrador- cross, was found by RSPCA inspectors in terrible conditions in a shed on the Woodhouse Close estate, in Bishop Auckland.
On Monday, the dog's owner, Vincent Hunt, who now lives in Toft Hill, appeared before magistrates and admitted causing unnecessary suffering to the dog.
He was fined £150 with £100 costs and was also banned from keeping animals for the next ten years.
But luckily a brighter future was waiting for dog, who has been renamed Buster.
He now lives with Darren Bradwell and his family, in Cockfield.
Mr Bradwell said Buster was continuing to put on weight and muscle, and has returned to full health.
He said: "He's an unbelievable dog. The previous owner must have trained him, because he is extremely obedient and eager to please.
"I have a four-year-old, called Somer, and she sits on his back. If you sit down he will come up and put his head on your shoulder."
