WITH less than six weeks to go before the CD Bramall Ford Darlington 10km road race and 2km fun run, runners in Darlington should be stepping up their training.
The route of the 10km event will be the same as last year, taking runners from High Row, through Hummersknott, Mowden and Cockerton, before returning to the starting point.
The run on Sunday, August 12, is in aid of the Rotary Club of Darlington's defibrillator appeal.
The fun run will start at 9.30am, and the 10km road race an hour later.
Individual prizes of up to £100, as well as team prizes, are on offer.
All those who complete the course will receive a T-shirt, and there will be spot prizes for fun runners.
The closing date for entries is Monday, July 23. The event is supported by the Northern Echo, sports firm View From and Alpha Radio.
Entrants in the road race must be aged 15 on the day. Entry is £6 for members of the UK Athletics club and £7 for non-members. The fun run entry fee is £2 for adults and £1.50 for under-15s.
Further details and entry forms are available from: Jeff Dawson, Leisure Services, The Dolphin Centre, Horsemarket, Darlington, DL1 5RP.
