INTERNATIONAL concert pianist William Fong will be touring the North-East this month.
William, who was born in the US, but was brought up in Durham, will return to the region for a series of concerts and masterclasses.
The masterclasses, which are aimed at young musicians, will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
They will be held at St Cuthbert's Church, North Road, Durham City, from 2pm to 5pm. Admission costs £3.
William will be at St Cuthbert's again on Friday, July 13 when he will perform works by Liszt, Chopin and Alkan. The concert starts at 1pm. Tickets cost £4.
Other venues include St Peter's Church, Wallsend, on Wednesday, at 7.30pm, the Customs House in South Shields, next Thursday, at 7.30pm, and St Michael and All Angels, Warden, near Hexham, on July 15, at 6pm.
Since winning the Concurso Internacional de Piano, in Spain, in 1984, William has taken many other prizes, including the Scottish International competition.
