A PROJECT to renovate Hartlepool's Town Moor will soon be finished.
The work should end in three weeks' time, and will see the moor's crumbling footpaths resurfaced.
There will also be Victorian-style railings on the side of the moor facing the sea, to replace white timber fencing, which was difficult to maintain.
The steel railings have been made to look like cast iron, and match those in nearby Marine Drive.
The £240,000 project is being funded by the North Hartlepool Partnership which is using Government money to revitalise north Hartlepool.
Project engineer Brendon Colarossi said: "We are extremely pleased with the way the project is progressing.
"When the work is finished the moor area will look a lot better than it did before, thanks particularly to the removal of the old white-painted timber fencing."
