THE latest exhibition at a Newcastle art gallery will develop during the summer with the help of visitors.
Forming Attachments is an exhibition at the Laing Art Gallery where visitors can work with artist in residence, Tanya Axford, to create sculptures which will spread throughout the gallery.
Each sculpture will be formed using thousands of blue clothes pegs that are attached to hanging baskets to create unusual shapes.
Tanya is a visual artist and member of Newcastle's Fusion Arts studio group and uses everyday domestic items to create her works.
Art exhibitions officer Samantha Hill said: "Tanya manages to transform ordinary household pegs into spectacular sculptures which echo forms found in nature.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone visiting the Laing to see how an artist works and get involved themselves."
The display begins on Saturday, and Tanya will be at the gallery on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission and activities at the Laing Art Gallery are free.
