PEOPLE living near RAF Leeming are being warned of possible disturbances from unusual air and ground activity this month.
Tornado F3s from XI (Fighter) Squadron will be setting off for Alaska this weekend to take part in an exercise.
Because of limitations caused by air traffic control, and the start of the exercise, the squadron will have to depart on Sunday.
A Hercules will be the first to set off, at 8am, followed by four Tornados at 10.30am, three more at 10.50am and the final one at 11.10am.
From Tuesday to Thursday, July 17 to 19, a squadron from the Royal Auxiliary Air Force will be carrying out basic training at the base, in the area south of air traffic control.
The training is being carried out there because of restrictions imposed on other training areas because of foot and mouth disease.
It will involve the use of blank thunderflashes, smoke grenades and parachute flares between 6pm and 11pm on July 18, and 6am to 1pm on July 19.
