TRADITIONAL Hungarian song and dance will come to County Durham today.
Folk group Jaszagi will give two performances to 1,100 primary pupils, at the Empire Theatre, Consett.
They will then be joined by dancers and 40 young brass musicians for a public performance this evening, at 7.30pm.
The visitors will be performing at the Durham City Summer Festival this weekend.
There will also be demonstrations of Hungarian crafts and a tourism exhibition.
Brian Stobie, Durham County Council's international officer, said: "We've had a link with the Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok region of Hungary for three years, and we are expecting a 100-strong party, who will not only take part in the performances at the Empire, but also the Durham City Summer Festival.
"The performances for the schools sold out within a day and we are hoping for a full house for what promises to be a colourful and exciting evening show too."
Tickets for the evening show cost £3 (£1.50 concessions) and are available on (01207) 218171
