TIME is running out for organisers of the first Ferryhill Gala to find a stage for entertainers to perform on.
The centrepiece of the two-day community event, which takes place on August 11 and 12, will be a series of performances by local bands.
The Ferryhill 2000 group, which organises the event, believed it had secured a curtain-sided lorry to use as a stage on the Sunday.
However, group secretary Jamie Corrigan said: "We thought we had one sorted out, but the arrangements have fallen through.
"We need someone who can provide a trailer. It's just for the Sunday, so we're assuming a lot of lorries will be off the road on that day and can lend us one to use as a stage."
He said: "It's essential we have one because the stage activities are the centrepiece of the day."
Ferryhill Town Band, local band Mustang and the Ian Pyle Dancers are among groups lined up to perform on the stage.
Other activities planned include fairground rides and side stalls, craft stalls from local organisations, street entertainers and clowns.
Anyone who can help by donating a curtain-sided lorry to use as a stage can contact Jamie Corrigan on (01740) 652157.
