STAFF and parents from two schools have been hanging about together - all in the name of charity.
Workers from Parkhead Community and Fell Dyke Primary schools, in Gateshead, abseiled off the Tyne Bridge, to raise funds for the Red Cross and for a joint family day out this summer.
Alison Arkle, of Fell Dyke, joined deputy headteacher Chris Bell, her 16-year-old daughter, Zoe, and Tracy Wallwork, of Parkhead Community Primary School, to complete the 250ft drop.
Parkhead parent Lynn Chamberlin also volunteered, and their efforts are likely to raise more than £400.
Both schools are Combined Centres of Early Excellence, and constantly work together to develop and promote services for children and their families.
