ELECTRICAL service specialist Team Rewinds has won a series of major contracts, including work for Nissan and Scottish & Newcastle.
The company's latest win is a contract to repair a 16-tonne electrical pump for South Staffordshire Water (SSW).
The company won the contract in the face of stiff national competition, because it was the only firm to guarantee that the work would be completed within the 21 days specified by SSW.
The 30-year-old pump is used to move 15 million gallons of water per day.
Team Rewinds, on the Team Valley Trading estate, Gateshead, was formed in 1982 and has grown steadily ever since.
It specialises in the repair of electric motors, generators, pumps, gear boxes and transformers.
The latest contract reflects the increasing demand for the company's range of specialist engineering skills and expertise, which include motor management, condition monitoring and oil analysis.
Jim Wyness, manager at Team Rewinds, said: "This contract reinforces our position as one of the leading national players in the rewinds business.
"It is a strong endorsement of the quality of service and expertise we offer to customers across the country."
Colin Richardson, manager at SSW, said: "It was very important that this pump was repaired as quickly as possible.
"We were impressed by Team Rewinds and its ability to complete the contract within a short space of time at very low cost."
As well as Nissan and Scottish & Newcastle, Team Rewind's customers include Corus, Enron's Teesside Power Station, SCA Hygiene and Armstrong World Industries.
