Venus Williams has retained her Wimbledon title, beating Justine Henin 6-1 3-6 6-0 on centre court today.
Appearing in her first Grand Slam final, Henin failed to get to grips with Williams' sheer strength on court and it looked like being a whitewash as the number two seed stormed to a 6-1 lead in the opening set.
However, the young Belgian fought back and claimed the second set 6-3, just when a straight sets victory for Williams looked to be on the cards.
But Williams showed just why she is one of the world's most feared players, winning the third 6-0 to claim a second consecutive Wimbledon title.
Earlier, Tim Henman's Wimbledon dream came crashing down as Goran Ivanisevic reached his fourth Wimbledon final with a 7-5 6-7 (6-8) 0-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 victory.
The Croat will now face Pat Rafter in tomorrow's final after a gruelling five-set encounter which has taken three days to complete.
On Friday Ivanisevic had claimed the first set 7-5 but Henman hit back to take the next two sets 7-6 6-0 before rain suspended play for the day.
Yesterday the wildcard Croat resumed to level matters in the fourth set at 7-6 and after the weather had once again brought play to a halt, with Ivanisevic leading 3-2 in the fifth, the 29-year-old returned this afternoon to win 6-3 and seal his place in Monday's final.
