A COLLEGE has announced plans to launch its own men's football academy for the start of the new season.
New College Durham took the decision after the men's football team reached the semi-finals of the national Colleges' Cup competition.
The academy will develop the playing standards of students, who will receive six hours of coaching a week from professional coaches.
They will also study for other sports-related qualifications which will prepare them for employment in football-related industries.
Members of the academy will compete in the Centres for Excellence Academy League.
Academy places are limited to 24 and trials will take place in July. Anyone who wants to part should contact Shaun Nicholson on 0191-375 4477
