NONE of the Durham bowlers who missed Sunday's win against Glamorgan will be fit to return for tomorrow's C & G Trophy fourth round tie against holders Gloucestershire at Bristol.
Neil Killeen had a bone scan on his ankle yesterday, while the results of a scan on Simon Brown's right knee are expected today.
Off-spinner Nicky Phillips is the closest to being fit, but a swollen joint on his spinning finger means he is still struggling to grip the ball properly.
The injury is the result of being struck several times on the hand while batting against Warwickshire's Vasbert Drakes last Monday.
Killeen's absence is the biggest blow as he was Durham's best bowler in the Benson & Hedges quarter-final at Bristol on May 23, taking three for 32 in his ten overs.
He played in the Norwich Union League win against Lancashire the following Sunday, but was clearly struggling towards the end of his spell and has not appeared in the first team since.
An attempted comeback in the second team last week had to be aborted after he had bowled four overs and if the scan reveals bone damage he could be out for some time. The return match against Lancashire at Old Trafford is next Sunday and Phillips should be fit by then, while Brown could also be available if the scan results are favourable.
Durham will travel to Bristol today with the team which won on Sunday, plus Ian Hunter and possibly Graeme Bridge if they decide they need a spinner.
Durham's Paul Collingwood and Martin Speight travelled to Bristol ahead of their colleagues to play in today's City Challenge.
Six supposedly city-based teams will contest the six-a-side competition, with each first-class county providing two players. The Durham pair join two from Yorkshire and two from Leicestershire in the Leeds team.
