A FATHER and daughter are opening their gardens to the public in aid of the Red Cross.
Richard Heron and Susan Winfield, who live in Middle Herrington, Sunderland, have mature gardens full of interesting plants and features.
Visitors can stroll through an Elizabethan-style knot garden, admire the collection of eucalyptus and enjoy the scent from hundreds of roses.
There is also a large greenhouse with a display of geraniums, begonias and more than 100 fuchsia varieties.
Red Cross Open Gardens organiser Russell Borthwick said: "This was a very popular event for us last year and we are delighted that Richard and Susan have agreed to open their gardens again."
The gardens are at 12 and 13 Durham Road and will be open from 2pm to 6pm. Admission costs £2 for adults and children get in free.
