ARTWORK of all shapes and sizes lit up a one-off multi-media exhibition in Chester-le-Street this week.
The event, which coincides with Alzheimer's Awareness Week, celebrated an arts project running since October involving 50 pensioners from the town.
The event saw residents from County Durham Care's Mendip House and Sunningdale House residential homes in Chester-le-Street join dance and movement artists from Equal Arts for a live performance.
At the same time members of the Alzheimer's Disease Society's Aukland house centre, also in the town, displayed the two-dimensional artwork they have created with the help of a local visual artist.
Iain Sharples from Equal Arts said: "Monday's event was a celebration of the project and featured a movement and dance performance by some of the residents from Mendip House and Sunningdale House and an exhibition of art work from Aukland House clients
