Crook Town AFC begun pre-season training last week with manager Ronan Liddane having made three new signings, writes JOHN PHELAN.
Kevin McGarrigle joined having gained football league experience with Brighton and also played for Tow Law and Blyth Spartans.
Born in Newcastle, the 24-year-old spent three years with the East Sussex club, making 34 starts and 11 substitute appearances, scoring once.
Paul White and John Finlay have also signed from Walker Central.
Liddane says he has his eye on two or three other players who he hopes to sign before the start of the season.
He added: "I'm excited about the prospects at Crook Town and myself, Phil Leaver and Dave Buchanan will be working hard with the players to try and get the club back in the first division of the Northern League at the first attempt.
"I also admire t he players who have stayed with the club after such a traumatic time last season."
Liddane will be helped by his father-in-law Jack Marks, who has successfully coached Blyth Spartans in the past. "Jack knows his football and will pass on his opinions of players to me. He will also be looking at our opposition from time to time," said Liddane.
