The Tow Law Town's five-a-side tournament, staged as part of the final stages of the Annual Beer Festival, attracted an entry of 15 teams with the eventual winners being East Durham Houghall College.
All the entrants played four games in the qualifying stages to gain access to the knock-out quarter finals stage.
Quarter final results: Ashley Wilson (Tindale Crescent) beat Butters Boys; Dickies Ferrets lost to Slaters Garage (Quebec); East Durham Houghall College beat Brandon Bay Horse; The Buffs beat Hanleys.
Semi final results: Ashley Wilson (Tindale Crescent) beat Salters Garage (Quebec) 3-0, East Durham Houghall College beat the Buffs 2-1.
The Tindale Crescent team went into the Final with their goalkeeper, Whittaker boasting a clean sheet for the entire tournament. After a close first half the East Durham Houghall College team went ahead with a clever goal from Jamie Morgan.
Tindale decided to push forward for an equaliser and this let in Morgan to add a second. The match was completely killed-off when Paul Zand completed the scoring for the College.
Winners and runners-up trophies were presented to the two teams by John Flynn, the Tow Law Football Club Chairman, while the organisation was carried out by John Coates and Graeme Foster, the Tow Law Town Manager.
