A father-of-four is to stand trial accused of causing the deaths of 10 people in the Selby rail disaster.
Gary Hart, 36, of Strubby, Lincs, appeared at Leeds Crown Court today over the tragedy at the village of Great Heck, near Selby, North Yorks, on February 28.
Hart was driving a Land Rover which left the M62, careered down a grass embankment and ended up on the East Coast railway line.
A passenger train hit the vehicle and left the rails, and was then struck by an oncoming goods train.
Hart is charged with causing the deaths of 10 people by dangerous driving.
His barrister Edmund Lawson QC indicated that Hart would be pleading not guilty to all 10 charges.
Hart was bailed to return to Leeds Crown Court for his trial in November.
