CHRISTIANS in County Durham are being asked to raise money for children in war zones around the world this summer, by remembering them in their prayers.
Unicef wants people to take part in its Jar of Grace Appeal, which involves Christians setting aside a special jar, which they can drop a coin into when saying grace.
The idea is to remember youngsters around the world whose childhood is under seige, while collecting money to help them.
Last year, almost £2,500 was raised in County Durham to help street children.
Unicef regional fundraising manager Louis Coles said: "The support we received locally was amazing. Hopefully, we will be able to repeat this wonderful achievement in the coming year."
