FORMER North-East marksman Mikko Koivunoro has agreed terms to return to Tyneside as director of hockey Glenn Mulvenna's first summer capture for the Newcastle Jesters.
The former Newcastle Riverkings favourite is expected to officially sign within days when the club's ban on player registration with the ISL is lifted.
Newly-appointed Mulvenna announced the deal yesterday, and said Manchester Storm's former captain Blair Scott has also agreed terms.
"Mikko was anxious to return and we've come to terms with him. Blair Scott has agreed terms as well," said Mulvenna.
"There's offer's out on two more players and I'm talking with a bunch more but I'm waiting to see if these two guys come back.
"I'm not in a rush. There's a lot of players available and a lot of guys are sending in CVs. I'm talking to agents.
"I've been speaking with Matt Oates and I'm hopeful that he will come back."
Koivunoro became a fan favourite as the club's top scorer two seasons ago, and the Jesters tried to lure him back to Tyneside from the London Knights last term.
l Mulvenna has arranged a meeting at the Telewest Arena on Monday, July 30, at 6.30pm for fans to ask questions and have their say.
