LEISURE chiefs in Sunderland are promising a bigger and better school summer holiday activity programme.
Action Raiders will be held at leisure centres throughout the city during the break and is aimed at youngsters aged eight to 13.
City council officials say the programme is "guaranteed to beat the boredom blues".
A spokesman said: "From snowboarding to swimming, trampolining to tennis, the message to kids is to get in on the action, while blasting pounds off normal prices with the exclusive Action Raiders voucher packs.
"Kids are also being encouraged to get on the bus, and get in on the action with further discounts on selected activities on production of a bus ticket.
"Boredom Busters theme days will run throughout the summer programme, examples of which include a Pot Noodle give-away day, Beanie Fest and circus skills workshop.
"Fully supervised, action packed survival days will also be available."
The programme was launched yesterday at Silksworth Sports Complex when pupils from Plains Farm Primary School took part in a treasure hunt.
Details of the programme are available from the city's leisure centres
