THE children of Dormanstown Primary School are saying farewell to a nursery teacher who has cared for local youngsters for more than three decades.
Margaret Armstrong, of Guisborough, has been a favourite with Dormanstown's children and parents since starting at the school's nursery in 1974.
Some of those she cared for now bring their own children to benefit from her care.
Jill Ransome, who attended Dormanstown nursery in 1982, now brings her four-year-old daughter, Kaya, and yesterday, she and Kaya presented Mrs Armstrong with a bouquet.
On Friday, the school will hold an assembly in her honour, and is to throw a party next week.
Ms Ransome said: "Margaret has been a part of the school since I can remember, and was even there when I was attending the nursery. From what I can remember, life with Mrs Armstrong was always fun, and my daughter certainly enjoys her time in her care.
"Margaret's been brilliant with the kids, but she's always been there for the parents too, to have a chat and offer advice. A lot of people in Dormanstown are really going to miss her."
Mrs Armstrong said she will spend her free time exploring the hills and working with children in a voluntary role.
