TWO drug addicts have been given a final chance by a judge after repeatedly shoplifting to support their habits.
John Jones, 29, and Jane Sidlow, 25, both have a string of previous convictions for dishonesty.
They pleaded guilty to another offence of theft yesterday and admitted stealing confectionery from Woolworths in King Street, South Shields, before putting it straight back when they were spotted by staff.
Jones and Sidlow, who is now 13 weeks pregnant, of Beach Road, South Shields, were already on probation for shoplifting when they tried to conceal the chocolate in a carrier bag on March 10.
They were sentenced to a further 180 hours community rehabilitation order.
Judge Beatrice Bolton warned them: "The next time you appear before these courts you are going to go to prison, both of you."
