THE 12th annual Institute of Journalists Royal Charter meeting at Ripon tomorrow will benefit several IOJ charities and The Newspaper Press Fund.
The principal race is The Ripon Bell-Ringer Stakes, a £10,000-added handicap contest over the extended one mile and a half.
Racing begins at 2.30 with The Centaur Selling Stakes (one mile), supported for the seventh year by the Leeds-based company, Centaur Clothes, which once again provides a £200 clothing voucher to the person responsible for the best turned-out horse in the parade ring.
The Leeds Hospital Fund Handicap Stakes (one mile and a quarter) and The Posthouse Maiden Handicap Stakes (six furlongs) are also featured, while The Institute of Journalists Maiden Stakes, a contest for two-year-olds over five furlongs, enjoys the support of the European Breeders Fund.
