PREPARATIONS are under way for a summer event aimed at bringing a community together.
The Marske Town Centre Partnership summer fair takes place on Saturday, August 4 at 1pm at the town's Cheshire Home.
The money raised will go towards the Marske Christmas Lights Fund, which is one of several projects currently being undertaken by the partnership.
The partnership, set up in August 1999, is made up of local traders, councillors and the police.
Secretary Mike Findley said that the scheme aims to give the people of Marske their say on issues such as crime and to come forward with ideas for regenerating the town.
Other partnership schemes include the installation of CCTV cameras in the town centre and the development of a community warden scheme in Marske.
The partnership meets on the last Wednesday of every month. Details of these meetings are placed in a notice in Marske Post Office
