A PARTY of 30 chemical industry trainees from the African state of Nigeria have arrived in the North-East for a ten-month management training programme.
The trainees have been brought to Teesside's Wilton International site by representatives of the Nigeria LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) Ltd.
The Nigerian nationals, aged between 23 and 33, were chosen after exhaustive tests to take part in the programme at the TTE Management and Technical training centre.
The trainees will go on to work for the company in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Turkey.
During their stay, the trainees will be equipped with the skills to capture and liquify natural gas, which would otherwise have been burnt off.
The training programe is also designed to increase their personal development and give them wider cultural experience.
