ANTI-nuclear protestors will arrive in Durham City later this month on a 300-mile fundraising walk.
The walk is being led by CND president Bruce Kent and chairman Dave Knight, and aims to raise awareness about nuclear weapons and nuclear war.
It started on July 16 at Faslane, near Glasgow, and aims to finish on August 4 at Fylingdales, in North Yorkshire, taking in major towns along the route.
The walkers are calling for the abolition of Trident nuclear submarines in Scotland and for the rejection of US plans to use RAF Fylingdales for the Star Wars missile programme.
The walkers will arrive in the Market Place, Durham City, on Tuesday, July 31, between 4pm and 6pm.
They will be welcomed by Peace Action Durham with refreshments, speeches and banners.
The group's Heather Speight said: "Lots of ordinary people feel that Star Wars is a ludicrous waste of resources and creativity.
"We hope as many people as possible will come along to hear what the walkers have to say and show how strongly they feel."
