A YOUNGSTER is celebrating after winning a competition to design a logo for a Teesside park.
Tristan Burdon, nine, was among 300 entrants for the competition, from three schools bordering Stockton's Great North Park.
His design will be adopted as the official logo, to be used on all correspondence.
The deputy mayor of Stockton, councillor Jean O'Donnell, presented Tristan with his prize.
She said: "This was by no means an easy decision. All of the children have obviously entered the competition with great enthusiasm.
"The design is well suited to the area of Great North Park, and will live on for many years to come."
The idea was to promote awareness of the park and its surrounding habitats and wildlife.
Tristan not only won a book voucher, but also £250 worth of trees and shrubs for his school.
