A Richmond youngster, who suffered a stroke when she was two, has thanked the hospital which helped save her life by raising more than £500 for the children's unit.
Emma Brown, from the town's Conan Gardens, survived her ordeal thanks to treatment at the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton.
Now aged four, she still has to walk with a splint - but still managed a hilly circuit from her home, past the Richmond Fire Station to Darlington Road, back up Gilling Road and along Beechfield Road, raising £550 along the way.
"We knew the children's unit was trying to raise money and, over the last year, it has done quite a lot for Emma," said Emma's mum, Julie. "She still goes there every week to have blood taken."
