A SERIES of workshops will help bring to life characters from a play written by youngsters from a drama group.

Children from the Laurel Drama Group, Bishop Auckland, have been working on the story A Rainbow Down Our Street, all year.

The project has been given a helping hand by members of the Junk Arts Summer Show Workshop and young people from Bishop Auckland.

The workshops are open to all children aged eight to 14. They do not have to be members of the Laurel Drama Group to take part.

It costs £12 for the whole week or £1.50 per half-day session, and times are Monday, 1.30pm to 3.30pm and Tuesday to Friday, 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The play takes to the stage on Friday, August 31, at 2.30pm. Tickets for the show are £2 or £1 concessions
