A GROUP of young musicians returned to their former school to help raise money for charity.
The five-piece band performed in front of hundreds of cheering fans at Teesdale Comprehensive School, Barnard Castle, to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
As former pupils, the band were asked to help out with the event by staff and year nine pupils at the school, who have spent the year organising a wide variety of fundraising efforts.
Afterthought, which is made up of Rob Land, Mark Tallentire, Craig Thorn, Catherine Hirst and James Ball, helped the school take the total amount raised to more than £400.
Year nine teacher Melanie Hughff, said: "It was great that Afterthought agreed to come back and perform for us because it managed to attract more donations.
"It has been a brilliant effort by the pupils involved and nearly the entire school turned out to see the band play."
