TEARS flowed when the North-East's top dancers were named in Tyne Tees Television's talent show, Red Hot Dance, last night.

Five dancers were chosen from the 200 who auditioned for the chance to dance at an Ibiza nightclub. Presenter Sam Ross said: "I cried my eyes out. I couldn't help it. I'd got to know the dancers over the past six weeks and knew just how much it meant to them."

The five heading for sun are Satya Darbar and Charlie White, from Middlesbrough; Cheryl Flowers, from Washington, Wearside; Shelley Lamb, from South Shields, Tyneside; and Barry Robson, from Sunderland, who now lives in Newcastle.

American choreographer JP will put the five through their paces in a routine they will perform on the opening night of El Divino's nightclub in Ibiza Town.

An hour-long programme following their progress will be shown on Tyne Tees on Tuesday, August 7, at 10.50pm.
