A NEW restaurant and sandwich bar is planned for Newton Aycliffe Industrial Estate.
Members of Sedgefield Borough Council are expected to approve an application to convert a warehouse in Durham Way.
The proposal is for a sandwich bar for takeaway food with a private dining area for up to 14 people and the opening of an existing canteen to the public.
One letter of objection has been received from a sandwich bar business on the estate, but officers say competition is not a valid reason to refuse.
A report to the council's development control committee on Friday says: "Newton Aycliffe Industrial Estate is an area which employs several thousand workers, creating a significant demand for food and drink outlets."
