A MAN whose wife was treated for skin cancer is to put the disease through its paces when he leads a team of runners in the Great North Run.
Peter Neal, 35, of Beatty Avenue, High West Jesmond, Newcastle, will be joined on the streets from Newcastle to South Shields by 13 of his work colleagues.
Peter, a management consultant from Consultancy Ltd, in Newcastle, said: "After my wife Katherine had treatment for malignant melanoma, she helped out as a volunteer at the Cancer Research Campaign's Newcastle office.
"When someone you know and love is diagnosed with cancer, it really makes you think."
"I am really pleased that my colleagues have also decided to run and show their support for the campaign, so it means we can encourage each other on the way."
Anyone who would like to run for the Cancer Research Campaign on Sunday, September 16, is asked to contact (01937) 588855
