TIM Sperrevik is aiming to follow his Hartlepool United teammates back to England.

The big striker is spending the summer on loan back at his former club Fana after falling out of the first team picture at Victoria Park, and while Pool returned home last night, Sperrevik stayed in his home city of Bergen to continue his footballing development.

But after flashing a 'don't forget about me' message to Pool boss Chris Turner with a goal against Pool for Fana in Saturday's 1-1 draw, the powerful front-runner hopes he has done enough to earn a swift return.

Sperrevik was signed from the Norwegian part-timers 12 months ago after impressing in a 3-0 victory. But after starting the season in the Pool squad, he spent the closing weeks of the campaign back home.

"It was nice to score for Fana against Hartlepool - it's always nice to score but it was good to show the players and supporters what I can do,'' he said. "It is going well for me at the moment and I am enjoying playing for Fana. It is good for my fitness to play matches and I wasn't playing much at Hartlepool.

"I am happy to be back home in Bergen and Fana are having a good season, but I want to play regularly for Hartlepool. I hope I will be able to move to Hartlepool soon. I might be coming back in August.

"I spoke to Chris Turner after the game on Saturday and he said he was pleased with the way I played which is nice to hear."

Pool ended their trip in style with a 5-0 win over a Brann Bergen side on Monday night and Turner is confident his players have benefited from a change of environment.

"I think we have learnt from what happened last year,'' he admitted. "Last time we played three games which was too many and stayed eight days which was too long. We trained too hard last year because of the time available when we were here. This trip has been just right for everyone.

"It has been a great team-building exercise.''

Pool are in action at Berwick on Saturday and Turner is hoping new boy Darrell Clarke will be fit after suffering a thigh strain against Fana. Home-grown midfielder Brian Ross, injured against Fana, will undergo tests today to discover the extent of his knee damage. Pool are hoping Ross has only suffered a twisted knee.
