CAMPAIGNERS fighting a mass foot-and-mouth burial site are facing a second battle - after a mobile phone company announced plans to erect a mast near their homes.
Residents in Tow Law say that the announcement by Orange is adding insult to injury.
Jean White said: "How much more do we have to take? This will be about 30 metres from my home."
She said she was concerned about possible health risks.
Wear Valley District Council confirmed that it had received a general permitted development order from Orange, informing it of its intentions.
Orange is proposing to erect a 15m mast and buildings next to Batsons Poultry, at Dans Castle.
Objections in writing should be received by Wear Valley District Council by August 17.
