PASSENGERS in a silver car left pedestrians with egg - and sauce - on their faces and clothes in a series of attacks.
Police in Darlington received complaints about three incidents in various parts of the town in which the occupants of the car threw food over unwitting members of the public.
The incidents happened within 70 minutes of each other on Saturday, starting at 3.50pm in Winston Street when a raw egg was thrown at a woman.
In her complaint to police, the woman said she had been helped after the egg attack by a man who had also been a target.
Thirty minutes later, a similar report of a person having an egg thrown at them from a silver car was received in West Auckland Road.
At 5pm, in the Yarm Road area, the occupants of a silver car pulled over and asked a man for directions.
When he approached the car to help, tomato sauce was squirted down his front.
