FEWER and fewer games are being played and at the weekend only one fixture went ahead in Division A, while just two were played in Division B.
In Division A, Middleton St George visited Rockcliffe Park and won by 46 runs after posting the healthy total of 206-3.
Openers Ashton (83) and Rogers (85) gave the innings the best possible start and when they replied Rockcliffe Park managed only 160.
There were a number of useful contributions down the order, mainly by Edwards with 28, Hart (21) and Pounder (26). Middleton St George used seven bowlers in the attack and six of them claimed wickets.
In Division B, Haughton staged their game with Lands and won by seven wickets.
The visitors were all out in 35 overs for 100 as Jeff Maguire returned figures of 4-31 in seven overs.
Responding, Haughton made 102-3 and most of the runs came from 16-year-old Warren Sparks, who hit three sixes and two boundaries in 36 not out, and Paul Sergeant with an unbeaten 29.
Witton-le-Wear went down by 15 runs at home to Brompton on Swale, who ended with 101 in 31 overs batting first. Daniel Evans, 16, was in excellent form with the ball for Witton-le-Wear and in 11 overs he took six wickets for 30 runs.
Andy Brack gave good assistance with figures of 3-40 from 15 overs, five of which were maidens.
When Witton-le-Wear batted, they were all out in 29 overs for just 86, which included 26 by Peter Crisp and 25 from Bob Evans. Keith Swainston was the top wicket-taker for Brompton on Swale, claiming 6-38 in 14 overs, including four maidens.
