Young athlete Kayleigh Brown returned victorious after her foray into Wales to represent Durham saw her win a gold medal.
Competing in the National Association of Clubs for Young People championships, held in Newport, South Wales, Brown finished first in the demanding 1500 metres.
Kayleigh, 11, triumphed against competitors from all over the country in the Under-13s event, beating Shildon Running and Athletic Club's Khalil Thompson into second place.
Also at the championship was younger brother Darren who was competing in the high jump.
Although he couldn't quite match the feats of his elder sister, he did achieve a personal best after finishing in fourth position.
Spennymoor youngster Kayleigh, is a members of Birtley Harriers, and earlier this year finished an impressive 39th in a national cross country held race in Liverpool.
Proud parents Stephen and Delyth are both keen runners, and when her mother was Kayleigh's age, she represented Wales.
"She wins quite a lot, she loves it. I think she loves the attention she gets from winning!" her father said.
"Delyth won everything there was to win at her age group. I think Kayleigh gets the running bug from the both of us."
