KILTON Thorpe School has opened its new library.
The room cost £46,000 to build and £2,000 to stock. Staff at the school, which caters for youngsters aged between two and 19 who have special needs, have raised the money through a variety of fundraising ideas.
As well as lots of books, the library has an information communication technology suite, computers, and a speech and language therapy unit.
Headteacher Noreen Robinson said: "The library will enhance our curriculum and encourage our reluctant readers by providing a stimulating environment for them to enjoy books."
