Saltburn is to get a series of traffic safety measures costing £30,000, after a public consultation exercise and a series of residents' working parties put forward their ideas on how the cash should be spent.
Schemes given the go-ahead include gateway features at the entrance to the town which reflect its floral work for Saltburn In Bloom at the same time as advising drivers that they are entering a 30mph area.
There will also be pedestrian crossings put in place at three points along Windsor Road and Marske Road and a wall at the top of Saltburn Bank, near the junction with Marine Parade, will be lowered to improve visibility.
Footpaths are to be put under the bridge on Hilda Place to control single file pedestrians and traffic lights will be going in at the junction of Marske Mill Lane and Windsor Road.
Redcar and Cleveland Council is hoping that work on the Government-funded improvements will start before the end of the current financial year.
